I use AdAway (https://adaway.org) on Android instead. I don't know if it blocks Spotify ads as I don't listen to Spotify on my phone. If using VPN mode, you can have a quick action tile (by the wifi toggles, etc) to quickly and easily toggle AdBlock in case there is something blocked that you wanna see. - Source: Reddit / 27 days ago
Why are you not using an ad blocker? On android adaway works well for me and is completely free: https://adaway.org. - Source: Reddit / about 1 month ago
You can consider using something like AdAway (https://adaway.org/) in VPN mode instead for similar functionality; this filtering is done on your device and a VPN is used to intercept DNS queries. Blokada (https://blokada.org/) also works similarily, and has worked for me in the past. Some people seem to discourage it, I'm not sure why. I'd just go with AdAway. - Source: Reddit / about 2 months ago
What about installing [AdAway](https://adaway.org/) in root mode? It modifies just /etc/hosts files (with the help of Systemless Hosts module in Magisk) allowing to run any VPN. - Source: Reddit / 2 months ago
No it's not. It's an open-source ad-blocking app that uses the hosts file to block ads on rooted Android phones. Here is the official site and it's available to download from F-Droid(open-source app store for Android). - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
Blokada 5 on my phone and as VPN an on my Notebook: https://blokada.org/. - Source: Reddit / 5 days ago
Https://blokada.org/ Download this. Blocks ads on nearly all apps. - Source: Reddit / 22 days ago
You could install Blokada (https://blokada.org) , preferably version 4. It does a great job of ad blocking system wide. - Source: Reddit / about 1 month ago
This was going to recommend Blokada as well. But don't download it from Play Store. Google doesn't allow VPN-based adblockers in the Play Store and Blokada 6 is a cloud-based subscription app. Download Blokada 5 from here: https://blokada.org/. If you have a Samsung phone, Blokada 5 is in the Galaxy Store. It's also available in F-Droid if you're using that app store as well. - Source: Reddit / about 1 month ago
I use the VPN from blokada.org including the built in adblocking. - Source: Reddit / about 2 months ago
