  • I get so stressed that I can't even solve an easy leet code problem on my own
The only Leet Code problems I am able to solve on my own are the most simplest and straightforward ones on Coding Bat(https://codingbat.com/java). And I haven't even got the chance to solve all of them yet, so I've really only been trying out its first few and am not sure if it gets any harder. Source: 10 months ago
  • How do you stay consistent in coding.
If you’re struggling with Loops and Arrays i’d recommend doing exercises focused just on them. I went through the same thing and I went through the exercises on https://codingbat.com/java and got familiar with both of them. If you get stuck on a problem don’t be afraid to look at the solution and learn about how it works. Source: 10 months ago
  • Advice for incoming freshmen?
I used this video series to get ahead of my intro to cs class. I’d recommend you find something similar to learn from. Just learn the basics, and you’ll be much more prepared for your college class. What’s really important is to do a lot of practice problems, and not just watch videos to learn the concepts. If you learn in Java or python, you can do practice problems in coding bat: https://codingbat.com/java. Source: 11 months ago
  • Source to practice

  • Beginner Java Programmer *advice needed*
I've messed around with CodingBat in the past (though I'm not a beginner); it seemed well suited for an introductory programming course though. It was written by a Stanford lecturer. Source: about 1 year ago
  • I'm finding it difficult at first to relate instructions into math operations
You will get used to it in time. I can recommend codingbat and doing the array practices, we used this recently in vocational school and was part of a recent exam. Source: about 1 year ago
  • For those of you who work in computer science/software engineering related fields, what was your path like, getting into it?
Otherwise, for java, and if you want some practice problems, you can do what I did back in 2009 and use https://codingbat.com/java. Its old as dirt at this point but it's still good for drilling down the basics. Not so much for like actual engineering (actually none of these tutorials will), but you'll know those 6 things I mentioned above. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Is there any way to do well in an AP class with a teacher that doesn't teach?
I would look at the ap daily videos, and then take a look at https://codingbat.com/java for some practice. Let me know if you need any other resources like slideshows with information about each unit. Source: about 1 year ago
  • RRC Full Stack Web Development Course- Is it beginner friendly?

  • Tips to Self Study AP CSP and CSA
For csa, I didn't learn a lot from my teachers, but I used Princeton Review's APCSA prep book, some slides from APlus compsci (although it was paid for by my school), and https://codingbat.com/java as well as practice ap exams and the frqs that are posted on the AP website. Not Coursera, but I'd also recommend watching AP Classroom videos (free btw) for a quick review, and use Codingbat for practice. Source: over 1 year ago

  • Useless degree, starting over?
Did you like the coding classes? Did you make good grades in your BA? Did you take a liberal arts math track? What was your highest math? If you liked the coding classes and you like solving puzzles and you took at least liberal arts calculus then I suggest a multi-pronged approach. (1) Apply to a masters program in CS or similar. They will require you to take some undergraduate courses before you begin to... Source: over 1 year ago
