No more vendor lock-in or downtime, the cloud just got solved.
There are tools CastAI (https://cast.ai/) and KubeCost (https://www.kubecost.com/) which helps you get these values. I haven't tried it personally, but they are promising. There are other tools as well. One of the approach OP suggested, monitor the values over a period of time to determine the right requests value, is really good one. I would modify it a bit. Generally take the p95 value for requests and 1.5-2x... Source: 9 months ago
Not sire if this helps but someone just showed me this free tool that looks at cost for Kube https://cast.ai/. Source: about 1 year ago
Curious about what about cast.ai sets it apart for you? I went with spot because it is owned by a big company and knew it wasn't going to disappear. I think cast was still in invite only mode, as well. Source: over 1 year ago
I found that cast.ai seems to have this functionality but am wondering if there is a free option. Also pursuing gMaestro but they're not available on arm64 yet. Source: over 1 year ago
If you're using Kubernetes, CAST AI is the fastest way to significantly reduce your compute bill and keep it there. It manages compute capacity automatically and has dedicated support to get you started even faster. The best part - Kubernetes cost monitoring and security insights are free. Source: over 1 year ago
CAST AI is an automated platform that analyzes your Kubernetes clusters for top performance and cost optimization. It can cut your cluster costs by half through fast and predictable automated cost monitoring. This tool features autoscaling on the go, real-time rightsizing of nodes and pods, and spot-price automation among many other features to keep your cluster costs as low as possible. Once you know that you can save, the question soon becomes, “How much can I save?” The best tools and optimization strategies extract the highest level of savings possible. Specifically, tools like Kubecost and Cast.ai excel at tackling both of these practices. So, how exactly do we evaluate them? - Source: dev.to / almost 2 years ago
You could also try CAST AI - savings report is free so you don't need to sign any contract to see how much you could save. For some users ie we've saved 90% - $124k/mo cloud cost. Feel free to play around https://cast.ai/. - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago
I'm biased, but most likely you could reduce your cloud costs around 63%. Would suggest to run savings report at https://cast.ai (it's free) and see where you could end, maybe you will be able to implement some recommendations by your own not activating platform. - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago
At CAST AI, we are super bullish on adopting containers and cloud-native technologies such as Kubernetes. - Source: dev.to / over 2 years ago
Not 100% sure if that would help you, but if running on EKS - you could give a try for cast.ai - on average our users saves ~63% of their AWS cloud bills. Savings report is free so you won't lose anything by playing around. Source: over 2 years ago
Let's once again meet online and learn about Go modules licenses from Rokas Bilevičius (Senior Developer at cast.ai ), who will give a talk on: Go modules dependency jungle. Hidden traps of restrictive licenses. The presentation will be delivered in English, and we will record it for those who cannot tune in live. Join the meetup to be notified once the recording becomes available. Source: over 2 years ago
To find out how much we could save through the Cluster Analyzer, we need to connect our cluster to CAST AI. So, we create a free account on https://cast.ai and select the Connect your cluster option. To connect the cluster, we need to run a small script in our AWS, GCP, or Azure terminal. - Source: dev.to / over 2 years ago
At CAST AI, we think of multiple cloud usage as an “A” AND “B” proposition. By having active-active fault tolerance across two or more cloud providers, we make sure that our customers aren’t impacted by a single cloud going down. All of this needs specialized tooling that we provide. - Source: dev.to / over 2 years ago
-If you're an EKS / GKE /kOps user, Give us - CAST, a shot, I know it's a bold claim, but if you invest a minute to visit https://cast.ai - the ROI can be massive. We've had companies in e-commerce, martech and development services save anywhere in the range from $50,000 to $1,700,000 per year with CAST AI. - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago

If you use Kubernetes on AWS, you’re probably implementing best practices to reduce your bill already. To maximize your cloud cost savings, though, you need to understand the specific challenges Kubernetes poses in cost management and optimization. Read this article to find out what they are and how to handle them. - Source: dev.to / almost 3 years ago
If you’re looking to make your journey with EKS smoother, we might have something for you. Use our EKS cost analyzer to check your cluster costs for free, set cost policies, and reduce your cloud bill. Try CAST AI. - Source: dev.to / almost 3 years ago
The drawback - it would take you a lot of time to learn everything and most likely cost money. Also if you know how to make things happen on AWS, on GCP everything will look completely different. If you running kubernetes I would simply recommend using cloud cost optimization platform like CAST AI. On average cost savings would be around 70% your current spending. Source: about 3 years ago
Spot instances are a beast that can be tamed. But to reap the pricing benefits and use them safely in production, you will need to use an automation solution like CAST AI. - Source: dev.to / about 3 years ago
