  Haven't settled on one. But if I had to pick, I'd probably choose Canary or Mozilla's Thunderbird, which are both purportedly privacy-first. Email in general is a fairly lossy format—you're either E2EE on both sides, or you're not.   I would also like you to tell if, when I first start Canary, I also need to create an account with the canarymail.io themselves beyond setting my own IMAP email accounts that would thus remain stand-alone (i.e. My IMAP/SMTP connection data flow never transit through their servers).
