  I'm a chemical lab assistant and have worked in biochemistry/protein research for four years. I do good work, but I want to understand more background.   I have no experience with brilliant.org. If you have the money, then sure go for it. Otherwise, there are so many high quality resources that are free online. Ultimately I feel it's best to get in the habit of working from textbooks. Developing a dependency for online resources can be a hindrance at some point in ones study of mathematics (note that this is an opinion, but I think there is truth within it). Source: 10 months ago

  Stage 1 - Foundations - 1y - Build up the basis while in your current role - brilliant.org has a lot of really great calc, linear algebra, probability and stats courses and is pretty cheap for the quality, something like $70 a year or $400 lifetime. • Advice for parent of math-savvy kid

  I would get him a laptop and a brilliant.org subscription - the content is not rigorous, but I think it covers most of the holes one might have in their math education up to a beginning college level (however, he might want to get to working on textbooks on his own later).
