It's a good app to block app ads
I don't know if this will help ease your mind, but Blokada 5 is a good system-wide adblocker app. I believe it's available with FOSS and you can download it on the Galaxy Store if you have a Samsung phone. Blokada 6 in the Play Store is a subscription-based cloud app because Google doesn't allow VPN-based adblockers in the Play Store. - Source: Reddit / 10 days ago
Hi, I'm guessing that you're not using the latest version of Blokada, please visit blokada.org and download it from there. - Source: Reddit / 18 days ago
There's a Tor Android app (might be for iPhone as well). DuckDuckGo has a browser. Firefox Focus is another good browser, can make DuckDuckGo the permanent search engine for it. (Make sure to turn off Send Diagnostics in the settings of whatever browser you use.) Firefox also has a VPN service that you have to pay for, which also has an app. Blokada is a system-wide adblocker app for Android that blocks some... - Source: Reddit / 21 days ago
Or use something like https://adguard.com/en/adguard-android/overview.html or https://adaway.org/ or https://blokada.org/. - Source: Reddit / 24 days ago
u/tweedlepillar has recommended Blokada in the past and speaks accurately but I found that to avoid paying a subscription I needed v5 and not v6. You can get v5 by going direct to Blokada's website instead of getting it from Playstore. I did that and it was perfectly fine. Your device should say your security settings won't permit the install so simply change your "install from unknown sources" to yes while you do... - Source: Reddit / 24 days ago

On mobile use a unofficial Reddit client like Infinity and set up Blockada. - Source: Reddit / about 2 months ago
Blockada 5 is free, and runs a local VPN server on your phone, and then tells your phone to connect to itself. This forces all internet traffic through Blockada, who can then refuse to resolve certain DNS entries, just like the Pihole. - Source: Reddit / about 2 months ago
Can you try to download the Blokada 5 (still free) from our website (blokada.org) ? - Source: Reddit / about 2 months ago
If you (or anyone following) cannot install it, please try directly from the website (https://blokada.org). - Source: Reddit / about 2 months ago

You could install Blokada (https://blokada.org) , preferably version 4. It does a great job of ad blocking system wide. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
This was going to recommend Blokada as well. But don't download it from Play Store. Google doesn't allow VPN-based adblockers in the Play Store and Blokada 6 is a cloud-based subscription app. Download Blokada 5 from here: https://blokada.org/. If you have a Samsung phone, Blokada 5 is in the Galaxy Store. It's also available in F-Droid if you're using that app store as well. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
I use the VPN from blokada.org including the built in adblocking. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
This is a bit late (me replying to a 4 day old comment)but for global blocking for tracker on smartphones check out Blockada. It sets up a a local VPN and then uses it to filter out basically all ads and trackers across all your apps. - Source: Reddit / 4 months ago
Install Blokada. The beauty of Android is that given enough knowledge and skill, you can quite easily do anything. My rooted device has no ads at all, not even on YouTube and I've crippled most of the baked-in Google spying. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
You can consider using something like AdAway (https://adaway.org/) in VPN mode instead for similar functionality; this filtering is done on your device and a VPN is used to intercept DNS queries. Blokada (https://blokada.org/) also works similarily, and has worked for me in the past. Some people seem to discourage it, I'm not sure why. I'd just go with AdAway. - Source: Reddit / 4 months ago
