I'm currently using it as an interface for Baby Buddy, which has a pretty great Home Assistant integration for tracking feedings, diaper changes, etc. For my newborn. Source: 12 months ago
I set up a self hosted baby tracker app: (baby buddy)[https://github.com/babybuddy/babybuddy] it's our second baby so we have not been tracking any of the baby stats. I literally only use it to track my pumps. Source: about 1 year ago
I’m using Baby Buddy, I built some ESPHome devices to trigger on button presses (from what others have posted as modifications). So when we change a diaper we hit the appropriate button (I mounted it above the changing table) and it fires off and logs a diaper change (wet, solid, etc). Then using the Baby Buddy HA integration I have an automation that fires every time the “Last Diaper” time is changed, it then... Source: about 1 year ago
Https://github.com/babybuddy/babybuddy best app ever. Free, not selling your data, lots of features, can add multiple babies. Source: about 1 year ago
Tried to get my wife to use https://github.com/babybuddy/babybuddy but she wanted an app not a website. Source: over 1 year ago
Baby Buddy[0] just turned five and I’m still hacking away on it! Well mostly reviewing PRs and helping contributors. I get a great deal of enjoyment out of interacting with its users and contributors. [0] https://github.com/babybuddy/babybuddy. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
I used Baby Buddy (set up a Docker container) and coupled it with Home Assistant so I could automate some tasks (start timer, set feeding, diaper, sleep, etc) similar to this. Source: over 1 year ago
If you have the affinity for such, check out Baby Buddy a useful app that lets you track your kid: https://github.com/babybuddy/babybuddy. Source: over 1 year ago
If you're into self-hosted solutions, there is BabyBuddy! Lets you track feedings and a bunch more. It is a web-app, but it's actually pretty decent on mobile. Source: almost 2 years ago
More of a hobby project than commercial but at least it hits close to home for those of us with babies Baby Buddy is a project to track baby feedings, diapers, etc. Source: almost 2 years ago
It looks like it's self-hosted: https://github.com/babybuddy/babybuddy. - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago
Validates my decision to self-host and donate to Baby Buddy: https://github.com/babybuddy/babybuddy I figured all those “free” (and possibly even the paid) baby apps were likely doing all sorts of shady things with that data. One thing for me to use a period/fertility tracker for myself - quite another to throw my child’s data up to god knows who for god knows what ends long before he could possibly consent. If... - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago
A friend of mine integrated Siri voice commands with Baby Buddy for keeping track of baby stuff (sleep, eating, diaper changes). I use Baby Buddy myself but never got around to doing the same thing with Alexa. Source: over 2 years ago
For all (future) parents that want to go forward with this, I really suggest using Baby Buddy (https://github.com/babybuddy/babybuddy) (not my project, I am just a happy user). Source: over 2 years ago
If anybody wants to do this but not by hand, you can spin up Baby Buddy on a server and it will do this for you! It has timers, notes, weight tracking and all other sorts of stuff. Source: over 2 years ago
Shameless plug for my caregiver support app Baby Buddy[0]. Previously a Show HN[1] as well. The app turned four years old not long ago (as did our first child!) and I'm still enjoying hacking away on it. Give a try if you are in to self hosting and over-engineering (: [0] https://github.com/babybuddy/babybuddy [1] https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=15558057. - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
Not OP, but we track every feed as a weighted feed (bought a cheap scale) and record it in Baby buddy https://github.com/babybuddy/babybuddy. Source: over 2 years ago
I make improvements to BabyBuddy. I'm really awful at this "time off work" thing. Source: over 2 years ago
My first side project[0] is almost four years old at this point and continues to get lots of interest and use. It’s been really fun to engage with its users. My second side project[1] has not got nearly as much traction but also has a much smaller target audience and I haven’t really got fully finished. I do find my professional work rewarding and valuable but there is definitely something different about the side... - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
