  • Monodraw
Https://asciiflow.com/#/ works pretty well. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 month ago
  • Monodraw
I maintain a list [1] of main web based text to diagram tools including ascii drawing tools like these. Web alternatives for this are probably https://fsymbols.com/draw/ or https://textik.com/ or https://asciiflow.com/#/ or https://web.archive.org/web/20210503172024/https://fatiherikli.github.io/archetype/ or https://app.monosketch.io [1]: https://xosh.org/text-to-diagram/. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 month ago
  • Monodraw
Yeah, I'm known as the ASCII diagram guy at work because I use ASCIIFlow a lot. Still not sure if people think I'm a joke. https://asciiflow.com/#/. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 month ago
  • Monodraw
Looks nice. https://asciiflow.com/ is a web-based alternative that's been my go-to for a decade. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 month ago
  • Nomnoml
    > 7. You can put them in the source where they are relevant. > Got a hairy state machine? Stick a comment at the top with something like nomnoml's syntax and anyone can follow what's going on without having to trace through the code. For that use-case a markup graph language is a poor solution. Use https://asciiflow.com instead to produce something that people can digest without needing a third-party tool that may... - Source: Hacker News / 7 months ago
  • Architecture diagrams enable better conversations
And then you can perform further edits using something like https://asciiflow.com/ (web, free) or https://ivanceras.github.io/bob-editor/ (web, free) or https://monodraw.helftone.com/ (Mac only, proprietary) as mentioned in other comments from https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=37040883. - Source: Hacker News / 8 months ago
  • Architecture diagrams enable better conversations
The only 2 techs I use for stuff like that are Asciiflow https://asciiflow.com/#/. - Source: Hacker News / 8 months ago
  • Typograms: A definition and renderer for ASCII diagrams
Many diagrams I am able to draw manually as I'm editing source code on emacs, but for more complicated ones I tend to use this: https://asciiflow.com . To each their own, so pick your favorite ASCII editor. - Source: Hacker News / 9 months ago
  • Good graphic FlowChart drawing tool ?
This isn't at all what you are asking for but I use it in code all the time for flow-charting logic. Https://asciiflow.com/ And on the plus side, the output is very portable. Source: 11 months ago
  • Oracle Industries: Helion Gasworks - My survival H2 facility!
So I used this website: https://asciiflow.com to draw out the diagrams and then pasted them into the LCDs using the monospace font! An LCD is 39x58 "ASCII tiles" FYI if you wanted to do this too! Source: 12 months ago
  • What are considerations to make a website secure?
AsciiFlow, wonderful tool. Modified slightly in vim to fit the format better. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Total sum of union of intervals problem. Would appreciate help on pseudocode.
There is ASCIIFlow Infinity that comes in handy, but in this particular case I haven't used it. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Architecture diagrams should be code
This is perhaps a tangent, but I've used https://asciiflow.com/#/ a few times now to insert diagrams into my source code as comments. I understand people might have negative opinions on the efficacy of comments that this would only exacerbate, but nevertheless I've appreciated what AsciiFlow gave me. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
  • Monodraw – a non-subscription, powerful ASCII art editor
I like the idea of ASCII diagram editors but... Mac only and doesn't actually use ASCII as it's format? However shiny it's interface may be that seems to defeat the purpose of the portability you are supposed to get. I've been using https://asciiflow.com/#/ to make and edit simple diagrams, it's fairly basic but sufficient for 90% of what I want so far. - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago
  • Show HN: Typograms, Markdown-like renderer for ASCII diagrams
Could have something a little more usable if you pasted into a tool like https://asciiflow.com/ and then copied your edits back into source. Or an editor plugin with something like the automatic table formatting you get with emacs org-mode. - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago
  • Explaining Code Using ASCII Art
I've used https://asciiflow.com/#/ but it isn't perfect. - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago
  • My future, first attempt into HomeLab.
Not OP, but I came across these very nice tools for drawing in ASCII https://textik.com and https://asciiflow.com. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Ask HN: How does a CPU communicate with a GPU?
Here is one such tool https://asciiflow.com/#/. - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago
  • Include diagrams in your Markdown files with Mermaid
This is interesting, but I personally really like that markdown is almost as legible as plain text as when rendered, which things like this sort of break. So I think I'd prefer ASCII art diagrams for this sort of thing. (In fact there was recently an ASCII diagram drawing tool on the front page, https://asciiflow.com/ ). - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago
  • Setting up aluminum production for the first time!
(I used https://asciiflow.com/ for this btw). Source: over 2 years ago

A rough diagram of what I aim to do. (using https://asciiflow.com ). Source: over 2 years ago
