  • How many days does it take for arc.io to send you invitation code?
I want to earn money from people viewing my website without ads, and I found arc.io, but you need a invitation code to make a new account, and I sent them a email as an request for the code but haven't gotten any response. Please tell me how long it takes if you know. If you have a code can you please share it with me. Source: over 1 year ago
  • WebTorrent
There is https://arc.io/ which is a P2P CDN. Sites get paid a share of the profits based on the amount of data provided by their users. Seems like a cool alternative to ads IMO, but most people that hate ads also hate having their browser "hijacked" so idk if it'll take off. - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago
  • Is arc.io a scam or legit? I've found answers on both.
Arc.io, Is there any other legit sites like this? Source: about 2 years ago
  • A Startup Wants to Rescue You from Browser Tab Hell
Darn, I was hoping this would be about https://arc.io. I know it's not very popular on hn because "how dare they use my bandwidth and cpu" but I think it's really cool. A viable business model for websites that doesn't require cramming things full of ads. - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago

  • Holy Unblocker Sites
Block arc.io. This seems to be what Titanium/Holy are using on the back end. If I am understanding right, by browsing with Arc you are participating in their "peer to peer CDN". So it works similar to BitTorrent. You give a bit, you get a bit. I'm not aware of any legit sites that use this. Source: almost 3 years ago
  • Putting more content on my own website?
I came across https://arc.io but can't vouch for it and have never used it. You could also do a non-intusive ad. If you have a bit of a following/mailing list maybe you could try patreon or tips. I am working on an open-source paywall/donation thing but it won't be ready anytime soon. Remember that credit card fees exist so you can't really make subscriptions or donations below $1 worthwhile unless you use a... Source: almost 3 years ago

In their own words, “Arc is a two-sided marketplace. On one side of the market, websites buy a fast, low-cost peer-to-peer CDN. On the other side, websites make money by contributing bandwidth to the peer-to-peer CDN. Arc's widget provides access to both sides. Source: over 3 years ago
