  • Advice for Apartment Shopping in Albany
I'd say start searching now because you never know what you'll be able to find, try apartments.com, Facebook Marketplace, maybe Craigslist if you're brave, and I found a site called roomies.com where you can find rooms and connect with like minded people also searching. I found my place quick; My employer let me know I got the job around 2 weeks before the start date, I found my current place within a week on... Source: 4 months ago
  • If anyone has moved from Texas to NJ what advice would you give?
Even if you aren't renting, I'd look for places using apartments.com commute distance feature. All roads in NJ are not created equal. You'll be able to live much further(cheaper, prettier, more space) the further south or west you go, and more than likely 95 or 80 will serve you better than the Garden State Parkway, Route 1, 9, 18, 27, 130. • Need help finding apartments for Fall 2024
If you aren't local, try places like zillow, apartments.com, rentcollegepads, or google places like JSM, MHM, Smile, Green Street Realty, University Group, Roland, Bankier, Ramshaw, etc. Source: 4 months ago
  • Looking for a room
You have the budget to afford one of those luxury buildings. There aren't many (any?) in Somerville like that, I think it's due to permits/regulations or something. But if you up your budget filters on apartments.com you could still find something in Somerville with off street parking included. Source: 4 months ago
  • What does it feel like to live alone and have a stable job?
I always found hidden gems on Craigslist. People shit on it all the time but I preferred it over apartments.com and the like. No b/s, just pay the owner a flat fee monthly. Source: 4 months ago
  • Am I in the wrong here?
The receipts I get are probably on apartments.com but I never look at them because I haven't really had to. If I got the money when they said they'd give it to me, I wouldn't have to pay the fee at all. The fee comes from a different way of payment(google pay option) because it's instant and if I do it the usual way It'd go past the 5th and I'd get a huge late fee. Source: 4 months ago
  • potentially moving to Miramar - where to find rentals?
Also - what are the most utilized websites for finding a 1 br to rent? I'm mostly seeing a lot of gated communities by management properties on sites like apartments.com and Zillow but those seem to be on the higher end in terms of cost. Source: 5 months ago
  • Rental/roommate finding apps that aren't a massive data nightmare? not asking for perfection..
I don't use facebook so fb marketplace is out. Zillow, apartments.com, and streeteasy are all corporate management companies and I don't want to deal with them. I just need to find a room or sublet ideally through another tenant, but there are so many apps I'm kind of lost here. Source: 5 months ago
  • Feature Request: Propagate transaction details
    (2) I get rent payments from tenants from my investment properties. I can't recognize what they're for from the payer because they're not sent directly to me, but via apartments.com. So I have to recognize them by amount and re-route them into the right income category. Similar process as before, or manual adjustment. Source: 5 months ago
  • Close to paying deposit on a place that could potentially be a scam.
Look on apartments.com and call or email buildings who have leasing agents and a front desk. Source: 5 months ago
  • Fell For an Apartment Scam
I fell for an apartment scam this weekend. The apartment was listed on apartments.com, which I assumed was reputable. The "realtor" told me I was approved, but that he needed me to sign the lease immediately because there were several interested parties. He also told me I couldn't look at the apartment because the current tenant was "out of town". I figured this was normal for the Boston area (I've been told by... Source: 5 months ago
  • Moving from FL to GA. Best towns I should check out?
I'm from Orlando and currently live in St Pete, FL. I'm thinking of making a change and have been considering moving to GA. The rent here in FL is getting to be too much, I'm paying nearly 2k for a tiny 1 bedroom apartment, and it's been going up about 20% yearly and can't really afford that anymore. I'm also kind of sick of the FL heat, but don't really want to live in a place that snows a ton, so mainly... Source: 6 months ago
  • New rent software
Recently had a renter ask about auto reporting rents to credit agency's, something apartments.com does not do. Now there are some other features I find lacking, so perhaps a good time to find better solutions for collections / management. Source: 7 months ago
  • I collected a bunch of data on Columbus apartments to figure out what a good deal is now.
I broke my search down into three sections: Columbus suburbs, central Columbus, and outer Columbus. I got all my info from apartments.com over the last few weeks, I didn't include any apartments that make you call to learn the rent, and I didn't factor in the number of bathrooms. I also collected data on average square footages, but after looking at the numbers, I decided it wasn't actually interesting so I didn't... Source: 8 months ago
  • Long-distance apartment hunting, neighborhood help please?
Yup, been looking on apartments.com, which is I'm sure limiting what types of places I'm shown. I tried looking on Craigslist but maybe my search terms were too narrow because nothing was coming up. I'm definitely OK to consider smaller less "shiny," if you will, apartments. :). • apartments.com and renters insurance through lemonade queation
Does anyone know if apartments.com(this is a website I pay my rent through) calls my renters insurance provider to check if I have an active policy every month? Source: 8 months ago
  • Studio apartments? Sites to search?
We've been searching apartments.com, apartmentfinder.com and craigslist (which gets sketchy / scams). Source: 8 months ago
  • Moving to the Bay Area (Santa Clara County) — Seeking apartment recommendations/any tips about living in the area.
Palo Alto (good, but expensive, and I've looked on apartments.com, zillow.com and Relocity app and there aren't really a lot here). Source: 8 months ago
  • Is houston community college a good choice for CS students to transfer?
Use apartments.com for searching near the campus (I would suggest that probably the SAFEST campus location is a tossup between West Loop and Midtown/Main Campus). Focus not only on distance to campus but walkability/availability of nearby resources - Houston has more than a few food deserts. Source: 9 months ago
  • Affordable studio apartments near UK campus?
Is this doable? I find some places under $800 on apartments.com, zillow, etc. but... Most of the listings are insane. Some of these "apartments" are in people's attics/basements, "apartments" that are somehow houses (it's not a studio apartment if you SHARE A KITCHEN), or they look like they're literally falling apart from the pictures alone. It's ludicrous. Source: 9 months ago
  • Tips for snagging individual rental homes?
Utilize a small handful of databases (ie apartments.com, redin, zillow, etc.) in order to save listings to narrow down from. If you have the chance to see them in person, that's ideal but even if you can't it's no big deal. They might ask you to pay immediately just so they can take the listing down, otherwise they might not guarantee vacancy even in the near future (my landlords did this). Just make sure you do...
