  There's a limited amount of data sources, but another one is anime-planet.com, which has tags for all anime. They used to be fairly basic, but over the years the tags got more specific and more numerous, so that's where I go when I want to look up an anime. Source: over 1 year ago

  You can track all these on anime-planet.com much easier, they have manhua and manhwa in their database unlike MyAnimelist which only includes printed media. Just wanted to give you an alternative in case you didnt know. Source: about 2 years ago

  If you just want to quickly record having watched something, you could also go to themoviedb.org and just make a list called 'watched' and add movies as you watch them. There's other sites too, like anime-planet.com for anime movies/shows (you can even record what episode you're currently on, and shows all anime for the current season airing).   I agree with others that heading over to r/manga will net you better recommendations than here. It's hard enough to get people to talk about non-DC/Marvel comics in this sub, let alone gay manga.
