Personally, I like codingame.com (completely free unless you are an employer) - Their simple puzzles are great places to get an idea of how programming works and the kinds of problems they solve. I think the first puzzle I was able to solve as a beginner in a few days.

I also recommend going to codepen.io (free for everything most people would do) and looking at things that are interesting and seeing how people wrote them. Some of them are intimidating but most are written by other people who are just learning to code and are a great resource.
