My preference has always been buying and listening to lossless tracks, so my goto sites have been: bandcamp.com, hdtracks.com, and highresaudio.com. I occasionally listen to lossy streams from my free spotify account just to find out whether some albums are worth buying and classical on idagio.com. Audite.de is also worth exploring if you like classical and there are downloadable free tracks to try. The web archive (archive.org) occasionally has great lossless live concert recordings and lossless audio files. I have just recently become aware of nugs.net but I haven't ventured to try it yet (it has 7-day trial and I don't even know if it is available for my area).
