Most important, you need to practice. You can run queries online (http://sqlfiddle.com but you need to create whatever data you want to query) or get MySQL and MySQL Workbench installed locally, get a database (e.g. https://www.mysqltutorial.org/mysql-sample-database.aspx) and practice with that.

If you're in a hurry, there's a lot of good online resources, and just because a resource is free doesn't make it inferior. Try something like SQLZoo. This should be good enough at least for the basics, and you'll be in a better position to evaluate the next step. Try sites with paid courses, like Udemy or lynda.com. A good university-level SQL handbook can also be useful. I don't have particular recommendations but for your need, I don't think the particular book matters that much, as long as it looks comprehensive, is easily readable and focuses on MySQL.
