I would like to contribute to the metadata from Plex Media Scanner but I don't know where it's pulled from. Any guidance would be appreciated, I have a huge library of the 90's and there's a lot of stuff missing.

IIRC it's a mix of The Movie Database (TMDB), The TV database (TVDB) and IMDB (despite their names, both TMDB and TVDB index movies and TV shows). Adding the shows/movies to TMDB or TVDB should make it to Plex's aggregated database in a couple days.
