If you're keen to try a tracker that doesn't require you to toggle timers whenever you switch tasks, check out Daily. It works by periodically asking what you're doing. Although it doesn't support exporting to markdown (an interesting feature, by the way), you can achieve this automatically via AppleScript or manually via some convertor or custom script.
