Most of the tools used for packaging applications into standalone portable versions require 3 steps: 1) a snapshot of the current system, 2) installation of the new application, and 3) another snapshot of the system to compare differences. That's the case for Cameyo, or for VMware ThinApp, or turbo.net Studio (formerly Spoon, formerly Xenocode from more than a decade ago). That approach is not going to work for older Windows' built-in components, like Internet Explorer. Also most modern tools are cloud-centric and even virtualize applications to run in a browser, not offline in Windows in an enterprise environment, which would not sit well with a lot of corporate Security.
