Prior tool was mGSD which is a heavily modified, old version Tiddlywiki. Tiddlywiki is also a great tool in it's own right. Mgsd saved my butt numerous times, but the current browser security lockdown makes it harder to use.. I recommend TiddlyDesktop. If you want to see this in action, go to the demo raw github page and save the file off to your hard drive, then open in any browser. You should be able to click around, but 99% chance the browser won't let you save the changes. That's where Tiddly Desktop comes in.

  2. A second brain, for you, forever. Obsidian is a powerful knowledge base that works on top of a local folder of plain text Markdown files.
I'm currently using Obsidian with the Tasks plugin and Archiver. Long-ass description of how I set that up if you're interested. Obsidian is a great note-taking app and I really didn't want to put my GTD system in there until I found the Tasks plugin.
