Ventusky does list their altitudes as "above ground" level or AGL (I misspoke, the acronym is MSL for Mean Sea Level, not Above Sea Level, my bad). I'll reach out to windy.com to get clarification on what I am to assume for the wind forecasts below 950 hPa (~2000 feet MSL).

When I loaded ventusky.com on my browser, it automatically selected the HRRR model. There is ICON, GFS, ECMWF, and NAM. And probably others, but those are the most common and most accurate models. BUT THEY ARE MODELS, not actual wind speeds.
