Golden Drake Linux: Arch for gamers and game developers!

Unix & Linux Stackexchange Super User
  1. A modern Q&A website
PLEASE NOTE: 1. In some cases, the "Auto-partition with Encrypted LVM" option may fail completely or may seem to succeed and yet result in a system that doesn't boot properly, so you may want to avoid that option for now. This is a known issue and still being investigated. 2. The standard method for installing Arch is to follow the ArchWiki's installation guide, completing each step via command line according to your particular hardware and preferences. If you use GDL (or any unofficial Arch installer/helper) instead, those steps are, to one extent or another, completed for you in ways that may or may not be ideal with respect to your hardware and preferences. Naturally, this also means you're missing out on much of the educational value of the standard installation process and may not fully understand how your system was set up and configured. For these reasons and more, you should not expect tech support from official Arch sources, such as the Arch Linux Forums. Also, regardless of where you seek help online, please remember to respect other people's time and, before posting any questions/requests, always first search extensively online for answers/solutions as 99% of the time your question/issue has already been addressed multiple times in multiple places. Feel empowered (and grateful) to take advantage of the wealth of useful information already out there, learn from it, do your best to discern whether some of the advice might be bad, outdated, or limited to specific circumstances, and carefully apply what you learn to your situation. Developing the confidence to solve problems in this way will be of great benefit to you! You'll quickly discover how much the ArchWiki is your friend, along with various StackExchange sites such as Unix & Linux and SuperUser.
