Looking to switch to Linux, where do I start?

Linux Mint Fedora Pop!_OS
  1. Linux Mint is one of the most popular desktop Linux distributions and used by millions of people.

I recommend Ubuntu, Mint, or Fedora. All three are good choices for beginners. But do not dwell on which distribution to choose. A distribution is a web service that provides an operating system and software, it is not an operating itself. Pick the easiest one to download and install on your computer. Then start installing apps from the "package repository" -- this is dnf on Fedora, and apt on Mint and Ubuntu. Don't be afraid to install apps from the command line, it is about as easy as using Google search.
