The Mate edition is just a specialized version of Fedora using the Mate desktop. IF you want to see more versions, here and here are two sites to think on. They each have cool factors and annoying factors lol. If you choose one edition and decide later to go with another, as long as it's just a GUI, you can install them all and try them out one at a time without having to completely wipe everything.
