As I said in 2. Get Nobara Project, the maintainer tries to include all these things by default. Lutris is just a front-end like steam but for a multitude of different sources (like epic games store, GoG, itch.io etc., which is useful if you want to run LoL which is not available on steam. Proton is a so-called compatibility-layer based on Wine. In short, it's what translates the windows syscalls into something linux can understand, making it possible to run windows-games on linux. You enable it in steam's settings under the "Steamplay"-options. You can think of it as kind of windows emulator, though you'll get slaughtered in the comments if you call it such :) . Feral Gamemode is some blanket settings black magic that makes games go vroom. It can be enabled/disabled in lutris. As I understand it, Steam/Proton has it's own version that does the same thing.
