How to identify green washing.

Nextdoor Freecycle
  1. Nextdoor is the private social network for your neighborhood.
That said, when I need something new and have the time to spend looking, I check the following: buy-nothing groups and Freecycle; for-sale pages on neighborhood groups like Nextdoor and FB Marketplace; locally-owned thrift stores (when possible), chain thrifts and consignment shops. For groceries, I'm limited by necessity to choose whatever is cheapest, which usually ends up being Walmart. For me, that's enough; I figure that my time and energy is better spent on conservation efforts!
