  1. Learn to code by helping nonprofits.
With my own experience and the experience I have seen with others, the ability to learn is not fixed since some people learn faster than others. However, in my case, I have been self-learning since the Kenyan Corona Virus lockdown took effect, 7 or so months ago and not so long ago (about 10 weeks back) I began giving the software market a shot. Don't get me wrong, I had some prior experience building static webpages using HTML and CSS but beyond that nothing interesting. So getting started on my journey to be a professional web developer, I spent a ton of time on sites like freecodecamp.org , codecademy.com and a lot of YouTube tutorials. Time spent there was on learning the fundamentals of JavaScript, Ruby and Reactjs. I would recommend the sites above for anyone getting started today since a lot of the concepts are explained extremely well and are beginner-friendly. Again, everyone's journey is different. While it may be okay to compare yourself to someone else don't let that drag you down to thinking that you are not making progress :-).
