Unfortunately not and it's barely possible by design. Technically, instances don't know of each other until someone from instance A follows someone on instance B. It's possible (but highly unlikely) that there's some unknown music focused Pixelfed instance full of #music posts that did not federate to pixelfed.social because nobody from there is following someone on that instance. Here's a nice graph on how posts federate (it's for Mastodon but mostly the same across all Activity Pub Fediverse with the only exception I know being Bookwyrm). There are some ways to tweak that, but it usually comes down to what's in the graph.

Funkwhale

Funkwhale is explicitely made for music. Like Pixelfed, people from Mastodon (the vast majority in the Fediverse) can follow you on Funkwhale. I recommend checking on this, even though I don't use it really (just once for uploading some talk recording). To my knowledge, Funkwhale is also more mature/"finished", but it's not as known as Pixelfed since it caters more to a niche.
