Hotels.com is an online accommodation service that provides an interactive hotel booking experience.
IMO If your doing domestic travel and mainly for vacation, and are ok with dealing with a 3rd party, Id look at the expedia, or hotels.com or many other booking sights credit cards, as you wont really benefit much from a gold card on delta now a days since its just really a checked bag and a boarding group which is pretty much in the middle of the seating groups. I have used expedia and had 0 issues and simply used the points awarded via their free system and gotten discounts or free stays, and you can always accrue millage with Delta without a card, it just obvi will not accrue as fast BUT the points never expire, unlike jetblue f them.

Thank you and everyone who has responded so far. u/PresarioDelta85, you make a good point about big city airports.... luckily, I live in Atlanta GA which is the Delta home hub so im sure I wont have an issue with that. And like you said, its probably better off if we go with a hotels.com or expedia.com credit card if we do want to devee up the points that way. Naturally, we have always went with hotels.com.
