But seriously, it's true it has a lot of short comings, but using the browser to move bulk data is just a bad practice regardless of the service. Look at Transmit, or rclone or even google's own tools and use a dedicated application. Tools like MASV and frame.io for sure are better, but not every project warrant it's use. I think it's worth exploring some more powerful tools instead of relying on the in browser tools that are limited because it's browser based. Dropbox, wetransfer and gdrive all suffer from similar issues you describe, not to mention crazy slow speeds, simply because they are limited by the limitations of the browser.
