"Successful" property tax appeal

    Is that home for sale? What is it worth? Where can I find foreclosures? Stop wondering!
    Then, I made a powerpoint that did two things: Showed pictures of my house and showed pictures of the houses around me that sold within the last year and make a comparison to them. The main idea is this, these houses sold for X and Y. These are hard numbers and here are the pictures of their home (from realtor.com or zillow.com). Look at how their house is so much better than mine. Look at these upgrades and updates. Look at the larger square feet, bigger yard, flooring, improved bathrooms, kitchen, etc. I made my case as to why my house should be closer to the sale prices of these homes. I used two houses from the comps to make my case. One was that 225K house I spoke of earlier, that was the most expensive house on the comp list. Then I chose the least expensive one, which was 195K. Using these two houses, their pictures from realtor, and my own pictures, I made my case for why I believe my number of 210K was the "final market value". Is was more than the 195K but less than 225 because of the reasons I listed above. So, I make a ballpark guess and it was in the middle. When the powerpoint was finished, I formally filed my protest online and attached the powerpoint as my proof. And 3 weeks later...
