If you have audio clips in a compressed format, such as MP3, you can use a free audio editor program, such as Audacity, to convert the compressed audio to WAV format.  OpenShot prefers working with uncompressed audio when editing a project.  If your video clips are in a format other than MP4, you can use free video converter software, such as Handbrake, to convert the video clips to MP4 format.  OpenShot prefers the MP4 format when editing projects.
