Once your email address is publicly known, overseas bots attempt to log into it constantly forever. There is really nothing you can do about it. Use https://haveibeenpwned.com/ to check what breaches your address appears in. Its a good idea to check on this once a month or so. If the passwords are part of the compromised data, that password is publicly linked to your email address from now on. Bots will attempt to log into various banks and services with that email/password combination (or similarly structured passwords) forever. Sometimes its the actual email service that has a data breach. Hotmail and Yahoo have been breached several times and I would urge you to get off of those services.
