Do you use any kind of system controlling what games you're playing concurrently?

  1. How long does it take to beat your favorite games?
I have a list of games that I'd like to get to at some point with notes of how long they will take (taken from howlongtobeat.com). Often I will choose games to play next based on how long they will take roughly. Each game and the time to beat I put on a post-it marker (like these https://www.amazon.co.uk/Post-12-7-Notes-Markers-Jaipour/dp/B00QJZIH4G) on the side of my monitor. This makes for a visible list that I can easily add to and remove from whenever. The limited space on my monitor bezels also makes it hard to make the list too long. Sometimes I'll pick something not on the list to play, but that's either at a friend's request for co-op play, something I didn't know I had or bought recently that I really want to try out.

  3. "When the price is right, you will play all night."
When I beat one of the three, I buy the next one on my wishlist that is currently most % off on isthereanydeal.com.

  4. Org: an Emacs Mode for Notes, Planning, and Authoring
    Pricing:

Not the kind of system you probably mean, but I try to manage the chaos of my gaming habits with Emacs org-mode and steam.el. It allows me to treat each game as a "task" with various states, notes and whatnot. The capabilities of org-mode in this context are far more than Steam or GOG have to offer on their own but still just as much as I need, never more.

  5. Backloggery helps gamers keep track of unplayed and unfinished games in their collection.
A couple of months ago I made an account on https://backloggery.com/ to keep track of my backlog, add some of my favorite games and look at which games I want to get into next. I dropped it after a few weeks but the site itself is pretty good.
