If you'd like to try a genuine old-fashioned roguelike, as in a game that is actually like rogue, Nethack is pretty much the definitely game-that-is-like-rogue. But first I'd recommend either Brogue or Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup. The former is very minimalist, the latter is very maximalist. Take your pick.
