You're right, and as I said, it's just the tip of the iceberg. Because OpenAI is also working on something called Dall-E. It's essentially image generation based on user input. It's still in the early stages, but it already works extremely well.

Google Cloud Text-to-Speech

Done. That's already here. A lot of people are working on realistic text-to-speech. Some can already seamlessly clone your own voice. Like Descript's overdub or google cloud's tts. They're almost seamless. Only some words are a bit off, and intonation still needs some work.
