I'm a creator and want to create a portfolio. I have limited web design experience. What would you recommend?

Laragon WordPress
  1. All in one web server.

You can start using the wordpress.org / free version without a host. You can both learn and develop your site by building it on your laptop using a localhost (the name for having a host on your computer) system. There are many free offerings for that. I have used a few and currently use laragon. Others that are available are local by flywheel, a new one by kinsta (don't remember the name), XAMPP, WAMP, and others. The ones with full caps are a little more complicated to set up and use. Laragon is easy to set up and use. Doing that will allow you to get started and learn completely free.

  2. WordPress is web software you can use to create a beautiful website or blog. We like to say that WordPress is both free and priceless at the same time.
    Pricing:
    • Open Source
If you are going to sell objects on your site, the difficulty of wordpress.org will go up significantly. Digital downloads won't be as hard.
