    > it’s missing critical components like the Google Play Store That's interesting, I've been running microG, a free/libre GMS replacement, for a couple years now and even did no-GMS installs before that. While the latter was a bit uncomfortable, I can't say it's a "critical" component. The Play Store itself is easily replaced with something like Aurora Store (a free Play Store client), or F-Droid (if you only want FOSS apps). For what it's worth, I've been running Lineage OS, although I think pure AOSP should be pretty usable too with a custom launcher and a couple extra apps. [microG]: https://microg.org/.
