Over the years, "prospecting" has shape shifted quite drastically.

From calling numbers in the Yellow Pages to sliding into the dm's of prospects on social media, it appears we have covered all angles.

Now, sending direct messages on social media always proposes one risk... The Algorithm. You will know just how well the algorithm is doing based on how far off track your "prospecting session" goes.

One thing leads to another and we now find ourselves reading a post (that could pass as a short story) on how Jeff Kirk is so thankful to work for a company that is like a "family".

So, how do we avoid getting sucked into the "James Kirk" vortex and the algorithm?

Linkedin Outreach Bots.

I recently wrote a post, Automated Linkedin Outreach, where I spoke about Phantom Buster.

Phantombuster allows for automated connection request with personalized messages attached.

To start, you create a search within Linkedin of those you would like to send connection request to.

From there, you can create a message that includes merge fields, making it personalized. PhantomBuster will then straddle requests thus avoiding spam filters.

In the end, you're only looking at a few hours a week of time saved. The real value in implementing it is not getting sucked into the wormholes, here you are saving 7+ hours a week.

Now, PhantomBuster also offers other integrations, such as instagram.

I tried the instagram auto follow integration and my account was locked after a few minutes. I was able to easily log back in after I changed my password in the corresponding email.

That said, there isn't any insight I can provided on the other integrations...

For competitors, @salesflow.io is frequently mentioned. Unlike PhantomBuster, Salesflow requires the use of zapier to integrate into your CRM.

Now, it does offer a follow up message sequence, allowing for 3 additional messages. Personally, I believe this can be extremely beneficial as it allows reps to focus strictly on those who are responding.

An honorable mention to Snov.io. Snov.io allows for email extraction from Linkedin via a google chrome plugin. From there, you can then add prospects into a drip email campaign. Their plugin is built around taking business off of Linkedin and moving it to email.

While this could prove beneficial for some, keeping comms. on linkedin offers for social proof without having to directly mentioning it... that is, if you are posting on Linkedin.
